The Green Loch is situated in Ryvoan, near Aviemore, along a trail that makes for a stunning walk. No-one seems certain why the water is green, although theories have been put forward that it is to do with copper in the water, or possibly pixies washing their clothes in it! |

Kirroughtree is part of the Galloway Forest park and is just brilliant for walking and cycling with loads of trails both for adventurous mountain bikers and walkers too. It's part of the 7 Stanes trails, and the nearby visitor centre has loads of facilities including a good cafe (we gave the food a good testing!) and bike hire.
